    • Fund the development and maintenance of website management, social media, and print campaigns on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

    • Support the cost of content creation including professional photography, video production, and graphic design for social media and newsletters. 

    • Support the legal costs of securing intellectual property protection for expanded offerings and merchandise.

    • Support collaboration initiatives with like-minded organizations, influencers, and media outlets to promote the LegallyBlack mission. 

    • Support promotional efforts for workshops, webinars, and events that highlight the importance of intellectual property and empower creators to protect their ideas.

    • Fund the creation and development of LegallyBlack's curriculum including print materials for participants and enhanced presentations.

    • Purchase of materials for our IP Creation Lab™ where students are tasked with creating their own products and brands from scratch and are responsible for identifying the different forms of IP within their products during a presentation at the end of the workshop. 

    • Fund the costs of platform hosts including zoom and canva and audio-visual equipment for presentations.

    • Compensation for industry experts or legal professionals for workshops and events.

    • Support the travel costs for team members to lead out of state in-person presentations.

    • Support LegallyBlack secure grants and sponsorships from government agencies, foundations, and corporate partners that are essential for the ongoing operation of our programs. 

    • Fund the development of community outreach programs and events designed to empower marginalized communities with educational resources about intellectual property rights and resources. 

    • Support of LegallyBlack’s volunteers who help facilitate workshops, community events, and write blog posts. 

 FAQs

  • Thank you for considering a contribution to LegallyBlack. Currently, our application for tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) is pending approval with the IRS. While we do not yet have 501(c)(3) status, we want to assure you that we are operating in full compliance with IRS guidelines for organizations in the process of applying for tax-exempt status. We fully expect to receive approval and want to be transparent about how this may affect your ability to claim a tax deduction.

    During the Pending Period: You may choose to treat your contribution as tax-deductible. If the IRS ultimately approves our tax-exempt status your contribution will qualify as tax-deductible.

    If Our Application Is Denied: In the unlikely event the IRS does not approve our application your contribution would not qualify as tax-deductible. We are committed to transparency and compliance with all applicable federal laws and IRS requirements during this process. We will notify you immediately once our status is confirmed by the IRS. Please consult your tax advisor if you have any questions about how this might apply to your specific tax situation.
